Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Ugh, I need a change. Like yesterday.”
Because I have. So I decided to take action.
I walked around, thinking to myself, “I’m going to dye my hair red. Yes, that’ll do.”
I booked an appointment at the local hair salon. I sat down in the hairdresser’s chair.
Then she asked what I wanted to do with my locks.
I don’t know what happened you guys, but I blurted out “Blonde!”
So she balayaged it like a freaking champion and I’m in L-O-V-E, capital letters and all.
Things I’ve learned about going blonde:
- Apparently you have to turn into cellophane woman and have your head blasted with hot air if you want to balayage. I loved this. It felt like a mad science experiment.
- Holy cow, did this brighten my face up.
- I tend to not recognize myself anymore in the mirror. Which is good. I’m no longer going, “Ugh.”
- Since going blonde, I don’t have to style my hair. Before, as a brunette, I’d walk out of the house and people would ask if I brushed my hair. Now I walk out of the house and people ask me how I got my undone beach waves. Or my favorite, how I got that messy bedhead look that’s not messy but chic. I don’t know exactly what they mean by that, but I tell them I got it by getting out of bed. It’s not a look, folks, it’s just me in the morning.
- Blonde is addicting. When I went in I said “something like a honey blonde”. Now I want in your face blonde. GIVE ME MORE.
All in all I love it. I’m glad I made the change. I feel so ready for summer now!
