Some nail polishes are dramatic. Some are boring. Some are chaos agents disguised as innocent pastel dreams.

Kiara Sky’s Lunar or Later is… complicated.

On first impression, she is beautiful. A soft, milky, barely-there pink that whispers classy French tip energy instead of screaming fresh acrylic set at the mall. When applied correctly, it gives that elusive “my nails but better” look. The kind that says, Yes, I drink water and moisturize my cuticles and definitely have my life together.

Which is hilarious, because I absolutely do not.

The Application Experience: A Journey

Here’s the thing: Lunar or Later is gloopy and streaky, like it can’t quite decide what consistency it wants to be when it grows up.

You cannot simply slap this polish on and go. No. This is a high-maintenance polish. It requires thin layers (the THINNEST), patience, emotional maturity, and probably a stable attachment style.

The moment you go in too heavy, it streaks. It drags. It clumps. It bubbles. It becomes the nail polish equivalent of trying to spread cold butter on soft bread: aggressive, uneven, and deeply unsatisfying.

But.

If you apply a very (VERY!) thin layer and let it do its thing? Magic. Absolute magic. It transforms into this soft-focus, elegant veil over your natural nails. The end result is subtle, chic, and quietly expensive-looking. Like you casually summer in Provence or own matching pajama sets.

I used Kiara Sky’s base coat and top coat, because I am nothing if not a loyal control variable.

Gloop, gloop.

The Wear Test: Blink and You’ll Miss It

Now let’s talk longevity.

Or rather.

Let’s talk about how this entire manicure peeled off in one go within 24 hours.

One. Go.

Like a snakeskin shedding situation.

On one hand, this sucked. I want my manicures to last longer than a TikTok trend. Twenty-four hours is barely enough time to emotionally bond with my nails, let alone show them off.

On the other hand… I didn’t need nail polish remover. The whole thing just lifted and peaced out, which was weirdly satisfying. Like popping bubble wrap, but for your hands.

So while the longevity was tragic, the removal process was kind of iconic.

Final Verdict: Beautiful But High-Maintenance

Kiara Sky’s Lunar or Later is stunning when it behaves. It gives rich girl natural nail energy. It makes your hands look soft, clean, and elegant. It is the visual equivalent of whispering.

But it is also:

  • Gloopy
  • Streak-prone
  • Unforgiving
  • Short-lived

This is not a lazy-day polish. This is not a “paint while watching Netflix” polish. This is a sit upright, focus, and emotionally prepare yourself polish.

Would I wear it again? Yes…But only because I hate wasting product.

Would I rely on it for longevity? Absolutely not.

Did it betray me within 24 hours? Without hesitation.

Rating: 3/10 — Gorgeous, fleeting, emotionally complicated, and WAY too much work.

Stay tuned for more brutally honest nail polish reviews, because apparently this is my personality now. 💅
