It’s been awhile. It’s been hectic. It’s been life-changing. And I’m still recovering from it all. Once upon a time, a pandemic hit the globe. My man and I hid in our house and took walks at appropriately safe distances from other pedestrians. We planned. We enjoyed the small break from having to “head into the office”. We were both still receiving paychecks and felt incredibly blessed. I had chosen this most fortunate time to go back to school, to get my Masters. In the process I had quit my previous job and easily found a new one that aligned

March Is a Disaster.
Remember when everyone was complaining that January 2020 had 472 days in it? You know what’s even longer. March 2020. This month has been a wreck for me (and everyone). Yes, quarantine and fights over toilet paper have added to my stress. The reality is though, that March stunk from the get-go for me. Let me give you a list: A student accidentally slammed the back of their head into my face. I went home with a mild concussion and a desire to sleep forever. I didn’t. A week after that, a child bit me. Bit me hard enough to
Dos and Don’ts During a Pandemic
I think we can all agree that there has been no shortage of “crazy” happening lately. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that national emergencies have been declared in several countries and people want to be able to provide for their families–but there is absolutely no reason to buy twenty giant packages of toilet paper or thirty gallons of milk all at once. All of which I have seen with my very own eyes. Let the girl who had the stupidity to travel last week explain the Do’s and Don’ts of what to do during a pandemic (What? I knew
ALL the Kitten Pictures
I recently announced my adoption of two beautiful kittens, Callie (short for Calvin Klein) and Evie (short for Yves Saint Laurent). Check them out in all their wonderful kitty-ness! This was the VERY first picture we saw of them. They are the two in the back. It was this that made my fiancé and I fall in love. Little Miss Callie, in the flesh (fur?). This was her at about 10 weeks old. Can’t you just see the sass in her? She will often meow for her sister and for us. She has to know everyone is okay. She’s an
We Have Kittens!
Ever since I moved in with that hot guy I call my fiancé, I have been jonesing for kittens. Like, waking up and meowing at my significant other so he could experience my version of kittens EVERY DAY before realizing the real thing would be an improvement. Look, sometimes crazy works to get you what you want, okay? But Lord help me, these were the most difficult kittens to get. EVER. For probably the first time in the history of the world, there was a shortage of kittens. WTF. There is never a shortage of kittens. That’s why Drew Carey
Happy New Year aaaand… It’s My One Year Blogiversary!
So, by the title, it’s pretty obvious what my resolution was last year right? But I had no idea what this year would bring. Like my sudden desire to return to grad school and actually getting accepted into several programs. Or actually deciding to treat my body right and inflict Barre and Strength and Sculpt classes on it. Or, the love of my life proposing and knowing he’s a super amazing guy that I’m stupidly lucky to have. Or, that people would actually read this blog and want me to show up in their reader. I feel like I am
Sephora Strikes Again!
Just thought I’d provide another illustration of why Sephora has progressively gotten suckier. I ordered from them merely to clean out my beauty bank balance so I wouldn’t have any unfinished business with them. I received my order, went for the packing slip to make sure all of my things arrived aaaaand… I got Melissa’s packing slip who lives in New Jersey. Not Kristen’s packing slip for Washington. Well, this explains the spate of wrong items being shipped out. Seriously Sephora?! You are two for two in screwing up when it comes to my orders. Moral of the story? Forget
Happy Holidays and What I’ve Been Up To
First of all, happy holidays to all! Secondly, I disappeared. But I had good reasons, I swear! I finally took my GRE and I am very happy with my scores. Colleges are apparently happy with them too because I’ve been accepted into several graduate programs. Squuuuuuueeeee! I’m so excited for my future! On top of that, I got to go gallivanting around both Seattle AND Orange County. You know how I like traveling and seeing ALL the places. I’ve got some open letters to write! BUT THE MOST EXCITING OF ALL… I’m engaged! The man decided to make me legitimate!
Happy Thanksgiving
For all those Americans out there, Happy Thanksgiving. In the middle of stuffing myself with turkey and potatoes, I will most definitely have a moment of clarity and remember that I am very lucky to be able to stuff myself in the first place. And to you reading… I can’t believe that you read this blog in the first place. That you take time out to comment and click “view” and be wonderful. You’re the best. Really. Thank YOU. Quotes I’ve Heard About Food This Week
“Children, you need to share the imaginary donuts!” “I don’t like dark chocolate. It’s too healthy.” “I was going to get candy but I got goldfish crackers instead. They seemed healthier.” “If you can’t play nicely with the imaginary donuts than we will have to put them away!” “My mom is going to make that Gucci turkey.” “I know cookies and I know pie crust and they are not the same!” “Bummer, I guess we have to put the imaginary donuts away.” *kids grumble* What have you randomly heard?
