Week in Review #16

First off, many MANY apologies for not being around too much to answer comments and explore blogs. I got hit with a whammy of a sickness this week that took me OUT. I’ve still got the sniffles and my nose actually feels swollen. Yikes! Anywho, I GEEKED OUT over this Kate Spade bathroom, and some of you solved the riddle of the chair in there for me! Purse placement? Check! I wish I could go back there (New York is pretty far away at the moment) if only to check out my new hairstyle in that bathroom. Like I said,

Quotes I’ve Heard About Food This Week

“Children, you need to share the imaginary donuts!” “I don’t like dark chocolate. It’s too healthy.” “I was going to get candy but I got goldfish crackers instead. They seemed healthier.” “If you can’t play nicely with the imaginary donuts than we will have to put them away!” “My mom is going to make that Gucci turkey.” “I know cookies and I know pie crust and they are not the same!” “Bummer, I guess we have to put the imaginary donuts away.” *kids grumble* What have you randomly heard?

Hair Cut!

I’ve gotten my hair cut and now I feel like I should only patronize posh coffee shops that charge $10 for one hot chocolate. I also need a business suit and a sense of superiority, which I’m lacking in both BUT, I’m still going to pull off this hairstyle because I adore it. My hairdresser was totally one of those mad genius artistic types. I sat down in her chair and she immediately says, “So what were you thinking LOB LOB LOB LOB.” At which point I said, “I guess I’m getting a lob?” And lets be honest, it was

Strange Bathrooms #2: Kate Spade

I was rushing around New York City desperately trying to find a bathroom. I popped into Kate Spade, begged for the use of their facilities, and found myself in the cutest restroom ever. Yes, Ever. Of course Kate Spade would have it that way! THERE ARE BOWS ON THE WALL! How adorable amiright?! Can I please have that wall paper in my bathroom?! Because I can’t get over it. And there’s a chair in the bathroom… But why? I never understood this. Is someone supposed to sit there and read a magazine while I do some business on the toilet?

Week in Review #15

I just binge watched several episodes of Sailor Moon and am now questioning my life choices and why I never grew up. But let’s stop there and talk about last week’s posts shall we? Veteran’s Day was Monday and I had to take a moment to think about the sacrifices our soldiers make and to say “Thank You”. I waxed poetic about Laura Vandervoort’s ability to pick the best dresses. I made and subsequently scarfed down some Chocolate Pound Cake. I reminisce about seeing the ballet “The Nutcracker” performed by the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Want to talk about Russet Potatoes?

Blogs & Vlogs: Tamira Jarrel and Things We Stan

Tamira Jarrel – YouTube This girl dabbled in beauty but her main point is fashion related finds. She is more tomboy then feminine and her wardrobe is more capsule than all encompassing. Because of this, her basics are on point like you wouldn’t believe. Taking recommendations from her usually means I’ll be getting something that I’ll use over and over again. Things We Stan – Blog She doesn’t post often, but when she does it’s brilliant. Sassy and humorous, she writes engaging content and honestly? If she were to someday become internet-famous, it wouldn’t shock me. Her stuff is that

Happy Veterans Day

I hope everyone not only has a restful day, but also takes a moment to reflect on the amazing things are soldiers do for our country. It’s easy to say “thank you” but when you really think about everything a person gives up when they join the military, it becomes overwhelming and “thank you” hardly seems enough. It’s often espoused they risk their lives and limbs to ensure our freedoms. Those are far too heavy a price to pay and yet they do it, bravely. But they also sacrifice their lives. By that I mean, the lives they would be

Week in Review #14

This week feels like its been so easy to get through. How weird is that? Even Monday wasn’t a drag. Missed any posts this week? Find them here: I discussed Fahrenheit 451 and how Ray Bradbury predicted the future. I’ve been hardcore loving on this Butternut Squash Macaroni and Cheese. I tell you all about my quest for pizza in New York City and my dining experience at Ray’s Pizza. I don’t have much to say on body skincare but I AM loving the Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA. Tatte was my safe haven in

Books: Fahrenheit 451

I’m pretty sure this book is based on my nightmares. The main premise is that a fireman’s sole job is to burn any and all literature. You’re forbidden to read, your main source of entertainment comes from a room with four screens of televised content. Just the thought of it makes me want to scream. And you know what? When one fireman exposed himself to books for the first time, it turned his world upside down and made him realize that life as he knew it wasn’t living at all. The lack of books had caused technology to storm in

Week in Review #13

Halloween was awesome, because since I’ve moved in with the man, we get actual trick or treaters! They were so adorable that I kept telling them to take handfuls of candy. Now I’m in sugar withdrawal because I mistakenly thought my post-Halloween candy stash would be bigger. Oh well. It was totally worth it seeing how stoked the kids were to get extras! And now, let’s see how much extra-ness you guys got this week! Five favorite things for October 2019! My favorite-favorite is the full length floor mirror though. It’s way too big and that’s why I love it.
