I didn’t take many pictures, because the gemstones were so bright they were actually blinding my camera. Check it out.

Can you imagine the bling that was happening in real life? I feel like it was damaging to the eyes to look at these babies straight on!

I really wish pictures could translate what I saw!

You really do have to see these gems in the flesh to realize just how brilliant they are!

Obviously, we had to stop by and see the Hope Diamond. You know, the one that seems to be cursed and kills everyone.

It is huge and ostentatious. There is some jewelry that I lust after but could you imagine wearing this?! Yes, it’s beautiful, but it doesn’t go with anything… At least it doesn’t go with anything in my Poshmark-purchased closet. Natch!

Random side story: I thought it would be funny to low-key freak out my significant other. It was at this time that I started saying, “Now, if we ever got engaged I’d want something just a tinch smaller.” I expected this to alarm him, while I got a few laughs but that isn’t what happened. Instead, when we made to New York, he dragged me to Tiffany’s to find out precisely what size and shape ring he should buy me since he really was planning to propose. Talk about a joke backfiring in the best way possible!

Side note: No my engagement ring isn’t from Tiffany’s. It’s from Brilliant Earth where they make a point of not using blood diamonds.
