My eyes are SO uneven, it’s ridiculous.

I stress about it being obvious because of comments made when I was young, but with a little makeup, I’m usually able to at least *sort of* camouflage it.

I present to you evidence of the complete asymmetry of my eyes.

How crazy is that? It’s like one eye is trying to fall asleep and the other one is hyped up on sugar and caffeine! I haven’t deliberately half closed one eye, and I have not spliced two pictures together. It’s my face, and at least I can say it’s an interesting one!

I used to be much more self-conscious of this, but the reality is, NO ONE has perfect symmetry, and most people don’t have perfect eyes. So be aware, that if you’re pondering the mirror, wondering why your eyes/face/lips went wonky, please know, I get it. And so DOES EVERYONE ON THE PLANET.

I give to you evidence that even women who are considered exceptionally beautiful have this SAME feature.

Behold, Ariana Grande with a smaller left eye:

Selena Gomez, with a smaller right eye:

Angelina Jolie, considered one of the sexiest women of a generation, has a smaller right eye:

And the granddaddy of them all, Marilyn Monroe, with a droop to her right eye:

Are these pictures nitpicky and petty? Of course! The asymmetry is often so small, the only people noticing it is those of us who see it in the mirror. Clearly, as these women have shown, an assymetrical face is still damn beautiful, and nothing to stress about.

You’re not alone. Unless you have a perfectly symmetrical face.

Love your face. I promise you, it’s beautiful in all its uneven glory!

  • I never noticed anything with these famous people until you showed it. A persons beauty comes from within. You are beautiful inside and out!

    • That’s such a sweet thing to say!

I think sometimes I (and others!) forget that we all have the same physical kinks. Beauty is a thing that comes from within! Which means you are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for being such a kind person 🙂

It’s highly uncommon to have a symmetrical face. I try to remind myself of that regularly! I remember watching a youtube beauty channel for the first time. The person in question was doing her eyes differently to show how one can use makeup to make one’s eyes appear more open. I kept saying in my head “But the OTHER eye looks more open to me!” Remember-this was the first time I had watched her. As it turned out, in watching more of her videos, she just had asymmetrical eyes and that’s why the one that was supposed to appear more closed looked more open to me. But honestly? As a general rule you’d have to study someone pretty hard to realize any of this, and most of us don’t study other’s faces that hard. In fact, I don’t think I ever would have noticed that youtuber’s eyes like that except that the first video I clicked on was on that specific subject.

    • Right?! It’s so hard to notice it! It’s partly why I went on a hunt for “the beautiful people” and realized they had it too without me even noticing! It was a good reality check for me!

    Hi,
I am a 39 year old woman, with a droopy eyelid on one eye, although the pupils can be seen the same on both eyes… It’s a condition that’s just happened to me and due to a dry eye condition in the same eye, I better not go for ptosis surgery… Psychologically I cannot get over it! Don’t know how to live with one droopy eyelid! I feel ugly and weird! I don’t feel attractive any longer.
I let myself go astray: I don’t exercise anymore and I eat a lot!
