So, by the title, it’s pretty obvious what my resolution was last year right? But I had no idea what this year would bring. Like my sudden desire to return to grad school and actually getting accepted into several programs. Or actually deciding to treat my body right and inflict Barre and Strength and Sculpt classes on it. Or, the love of my life proposing and knowing he’s a super amazing guy that I’m stupidly lucky to have. Or, that people would actually read this blog and want me to show up in their reader. I feel like I am

Sephora Strikes Again!
Just thought I’d provide another illustration of why Sephora has progressively gotten suckier. I ordered from them merely to clean out my beauty bank balance so I wouldn’t have any unfinished business with them. I received my order, went for the packing slip to make sure all of my things arrived aaaaand… I got Melissa’s packing slip who lives in New Jersey. Not Kristen’s packing slip for Washington. Well, this explains the spate of wrong items being shipped out. Seriously Sephora?! You are two for two in screwing up when it comes to my orders. Moral of the story? Forget
Happy Holidays and What I’ve Been Up To
First of all, happy holidays to all! Secondly, I disappeared. But I had good reasons, I swear! I finally took my GRE and I am very happy with my scores. Colleges are apparently happy with them too because I’ve been accepted into several graduate programs. Squuuuuuueeeee! I’m so excited for my future! On top of that, I got to go gallivanting around both Seattle AND Orange County. You know how I like traveling and seeing ALL the places. I’ve got some open letters to write! BUT THE MOST EXCITING OF ALL… I’m engaged! The man decided to make me legitimate!
Five Favorite Things – November 2019
My hair transformation. It is changing my lifestyle and making me feel like an Instagram model. Pretty soon I’ll be doing bougie things and talking with an accent. The Burberry Kilt – I ordered this kilt off of Poshmark and I adore that it both fits and looks ridiculously cute. Add that it was affordable for what it is helped make this a total home run for me. These Maple Oatmeal Scones I made. I don’t even like scones but these were so delicious that I mean to make an extra batch. They are everything a scone is supposed to
Creamy Pork Stew
I am not a big fan of pork. By that I mean pork chops, because YOU KNOW I love ham and am having a not-so-secret affair with bacon. But pork chops? Hard. Pass. BUT, since I’m always in the pursuit of new recipes, and diving into foods that I would normally say “No, thank you” too, I decided to give this Creamy Pork Stew a try aaaaaaaand…. I think I just found *THE* winter soup recipe of the year. Really. And it’s strange because one of my favorite parts of this was the pork. It was all juicy and tender
Week in Review #17
Before we discuss anything else, can we just respect my hair for a moment? I chopped it and now I’ve re-colored it. I’m walking around telling people I feel like I have someone else’s hair attached to my head. Like a stole the super stylish wig worn to some fabulous charity auction dinner thing. My week seemed to center around food this week. Of course it would being Thanksgiving happened, which is usually just a reason to stuff our faces with way too much food and say we’re grateful. But I swear. I really AM grateful! I tried Cauliflower Steak
Cauliflower Steak with Chèvre Cream
I need to stop looking up recipes that are supposed to be healthier, because I’m finding that they are just not that fun for me. But, when I kept seeing “cauliflower steaks” like they were supposed to replace real steak, I thought, I’ve got to see what this nonsense is about. And it IS nonsense for the record. Cauliflower will never be steak in any way shape or form. That being said… The strange part about this recipe is… I actually enjoyed the baked cauliflower! I ate it and thought, “Okay, I sorta-kinda get why people substitute this for beef.”
Happy Thanksgiving
For all those Americans out there, Happy Thanksgiving. In the middle of stuffing myself with turkey and potatoes, I will most definitely have a moment of clarity and remember that I am very lucky to be able to stuff myself in the first place. And to you reading… I can’t believe that you read this blog in the first place. That you take time out to comment and click “view” and be wonderful. You’re the best. Really. Thank YOU. Maple Oatmeal Scones
I’ve had quite a scornful relationship with scones. In my childhood, my family would always by them at the State Fair, cost a small fortune, and usually consisted of generic jam stuffed into big hunk of dry bread like substance. Everybody praised them as being awesome while I would mistakenly give them a try (again) and finding myself hacking up crumbs that got stuck in my throat. Yuck. But then I got to thinking. I like tea. Scones are supposed to go great with tea. Maybe I was eating the wrong scones at the wrong time. Maaaaybe, if I added
Week in Review #16
First off, many MANY apologies for not being around too much to answer comments and explore blogs. I got hit with a whammy of a sickness this week that took me OUT. I’ve still got the sniffles and my nose actually feels swollen. Yikes! Anywho, I GEEKED OUT over this Kate Spade bathroom, and some of you solved the riddle of the chair in there for me! Purse placement? Check! I wish I could go back there (New York is pretty far away at the moment) if only to check out my new hairstyle in that bathroom. Like I said,
