Catch up on all of the week’s posts here! I dug into my cookbooks, and decided to make this delicious Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal. I had forgotten how good a great bowl of porridge could taste! The healthy choices continued this week with my continued attendance at Barre class. Miracle of miracles, the class hasn’t actually killed me yet. I recounted my trip to the 1950’s, aka the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk in Delaware. The place was riddled with pizza and fries but I enjoyed the sun, sand, and good old fashioned fun! Sometimes I window shop like I can afford fancy

Five Favorite Things – August 2019
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 – I cannot stress enough how much this saved my hair from turning into straw this summer. From going blonder to living my life in the sun, this kept it looking healthy, shiny, and oh-so-chic. My hair would be a goner if it wasn’t for this. MAC LipMix in Red – I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH. This red is everything I want a red to be. I’ve worn it this summer and you can bet everything that this will be my go-to holiday red when the winter season comes around! FitBit Charge HR 2 –
The Dermstore Sale
I know everyone has gone crazy with the Sephora sale, but I cared more about the 25% off that was happening at the Dermstore website. I congratulate myself on not turning the whole store upside down and crashing the website, because I dearly wanted EVERYTHING, but I held myself to five items. FIVE! Paula’s Choice Skin Revealing Body Lotion 10% AHA – I have super dry itchy legs and I’m hoping this lotion will exfoliate, hydrate, and help in the removal of dead skin. I have a body brush that aids in these things but honestly? I canuse all the
Fashion Cravings: Tom Ford Jennifer Sunglasses
I have a thing for accessories, mainly because they tend to fit me no matter how much my waist expands or thins out. A scarf will always be able to drape itself in a sophisticated way across my shoulders, and barring serious water retention, a pair or shoes should always slide on. Which brings me to sunglasses. They should always fit my head, protect me from crows feet, and make me look fab. Like these Tom Ford Polarized Jennifer Sunglasses. They are so chic, like what Aubrey Hepburn would wear today if she went for Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I just
Barre, Part 5
This will be my last post about torturous, strenuous, max-my-muscles-out barre. Don’t worry though, I’ve done myself the horror of adding my name to the Strength and Sculpt class and you KNOW I’ll have something to say about that! This time, the class had a unique twist. My boyfriend came (aww), and it was our anniversary (aww!) and I bet you’re wondering why we exercised instead of drinking champagne and eating truffles (seriously, wtf). Never you worry, we had our celebration on the weekend which meant we had a perfectly good reason to exercise (damn.) Lucky us. He was a
The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, Delaware
I can’t say that I’m an expert on boardwalks. It’s not like I’ve ever lived near one or made a goal to visit all the boardwalks in the world or anything… But there’s a feeling that’s stuck with me since visiting the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. That thing is that there must be a huuuuge difference between beach culture on the west coast and the east coast. I think the most confusing thing for me was the epidemic of fries and pizza on the beach. Both of those things sound like the most unappetizing food to consume while the sun
Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal
from the Vegan Cookbook for Beginners When I was a wee one, I quite enjoyed a spot of oatmeal. Never healthy oatmeal since I doused it in brown sugar and added a pat of butter to help it go down. Regardless though, it was a former favorite of min I recently rediscovered this “old love”. Honestly, I’m no longer as psyched about oatmeal as my younger self but I also no longer add a hunk of butter. Sacrifices will kill a dish if you let them. However, I was perusing a cookbook, Vegan Cookbook for Beginners, and quite liked the
Week in Review #3
Another week has gone by leading to another recap! Here we go: I was definitely into the nails this week, having written two posts regarding nail polish. The latest has me going on about Deborah Lippmann’s “Hot Child in the City.” You can also see “Hot Child in the City” in another attempt at nail art. I was a wee bit embarrassed this week when people actually took a second look at my nails! I love to check out designer pieces even if they are no longer on trend. The Chloe Paraty Handbag is everything I want my fashion lifestyle
Hot Child in the City by Deborah Lippmann
This nail polish is BRIGHT. It will light up the night and your nails when you put it on. It’s a fluorescent orange with a coral tint thrown in to keep it classy. It’s versatile enough that it looks totally cute in the summer and workable in the fall. It also screams for attention so if you are into loud colors then this might be up your alley. One thing to note, this did go on a wee bit streaky on first application so two coats is definitely required to get an even nail color. I would also like to
The Palladian – A Kimpton Hotel in Seattle, Washington
I never like to give a negative review. However, there are some things you just have to know about. I’m going to do this with a good old fashioned pros and cons list. First con, a VERY big con. They use sliding doors for the bathroom entrance. The door was OFF its runner meaning that it left a very big gap. Privacy much?! PRO: They immediately repaired the runner situation. CON: There was still a huge gap around the door. Big enough that I could fit both my arms around the door while it was closed. I then proceeded to
