I never thought for a second that I would join another class in addition to Barre. BUT I CAN EXPLAIN, kinda. The gist of it is…. That I figured I needed to work out more than once a week. So look at me. I’m upping the self-inflicted pain to twice a week all in the name of feeling good about myself. It almost sounds oxymoronic.

But holy sweat-fest Batman! If I thought Barre was intense, Strength and Sculpt had me perspiring buckets within the first ten minutes. I can’t believe I didn’t bring a towel because I made it rain. I was thinking, “Man, I am on fire, look at how great my squats are!”

Note, that it is a bad idea to look at any mirrors when you have these thoughts because you’ll find your squats are more “meh” then badass. However, I “felt the burn” which meant I was giving it my all even if my form wasn’t necessarily on point, you dig?

The key differences between this class and Barre was there was less cardio and a *heavy* emphasis on weights. It’s like they took every exercise known to man and thought, “you know what? Why don’t we do that but with weights.” Lunges? Add weights! Squats? Add weights! Punching the air like it’s Tae-bo? Add weights!

It was strange though, after Barre I tend to have a surge of energy once it’s over and babble incoherently with joy. Strength and Sculpt took it all out of me and I just wanted to go home. To be fair, I ended up vomiting in the middle of the night which leads me to believe I had probably started to feel a bug coming on earlier in the day, so its totally possible that my entire recollection of Strength and Sculpt was a fever dream of sweat and terror. We shall find out next week, am I right?!
